MID-YEAR INSPECTIONS
MPM MID-YEAR APARTMENT INSPECTIONS
Starting 12/22/2021
Each year around winter break, our maintenance staff conducts a mid-year functionality and safety inspection of all units. This is to ensure aspects of your apartment such as fire safety, HVAC systems, air filters/replacements, appliances, etc. are working properly and that the unit is meeting all current safety standards with smoke detectors etc.
We will start these inspections on 12/22/2021. We will be entering each unit and bedroom. Please note and be reassured, if any outside contractor is needed for HVAC, Fire, or other systems they will be always accompanied by our staff members while in-units.
LEAVING YOUR APARTMENT FOR WINTER BREAK?
  • Make sure that all windows and doors are closed/locked and all/any AC units (if not living at Madbury Commons) have been removed.
  • Take out all trash and clean out any perishable items from refrigerator and kitchen areas.
  • Ensure there are no lease violations. Any visible lease violations will have the appropriate fines or warnings applied.
  • Be sure to leave your heat on (on low is ok) to prevent any freezing of pipes.
  • Pick up any packages you are expecting before you leave.
  • Take your keys with you!
CLEANLINESS REMINDER
Keeping your living area clean is more important than ever now as we continue to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, seasonal sickness’, and allergies. Keeping your living area clean prevents illness and can provide a better quality of life for you and your roommates.
We have heard concerns of our local Durham community regarding increased allergen effects and confusion or concern of mold presence, and what mold is. We have provided some resources and information below to help keep our residents and community informed and provide some helpful tips to keep your living space clean and allergen free! Read more from our recent communication regarding these topics https://conta.cc/3Ed8Sue.
  • Keep areas around water sources dry, like wiping around faucets with a towel.
  • Control humidity levels in your unit with a personal dehumidifier.
  • Leave bathroom doors open after showering to promote ventilation.
  • Clean your apartment regularly using commercial cleaning products, soap and water or a bleach solution. Baking soda and a bristle brush may be used on hard surfaces. Be sure to towel dry the surfaces quickly after cleaning!
  • Regularly clean and/or replace items like bathmats which can hold moisture and promote mold growth.
  • Regularly clean and dry HVAC vents and replace air filters *Madbury Commons takes care of this for you!
